Olawale Micheal Ogunleye, popularly known as Myles, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He was born in Ogba, Lagos on the 9th of December to a family of 6. Myles is an indigene of Supare Akoko-South in Ondo State. His had his secondary education at Universal White Hall Secondary School in Lagos and then went on to study Computer Science at the National Open University of Nigeria.

Myles discovered his flair for music at the tender age of 9. He nurtured his passion for music until he was a teenager and began his music journey as a rapper. He recalls rapping to entertain his classmates way back in secondary school, deriving his inspiration from great rappers like Lil’ Wayne. He, however, decided to pursue music professionally while he was an undergraduate in the university. He had the support of his parents on following this path.

In 2010, Myles made the decision to pursue music as a singer and not as a rapper. He believed he was better at singing and writing songs than he was as a rapper. He describes his music genre as Afro-pop but he can easily delve into the genres of R ‘n’ B, dancehall, reggae and many more. His sound, he believes, would be set apart from other Afro-pop singers because of the unique content, message and delivery he puts into his songs.

Being an artsite not backed by a record label, Myles had the challenges of promoting his music on very fickle means with barely noticeable outreach. This, however, did not deter him from pursuing his dreams of becoming a music star. “I just kept reminding myself to stay focused and hope for better days,”, he said.

In 2012, Myles released his first single as an unsigned artist titled ‘Baminowo’. In 2015, he released a song titled ‘Good Life’ under the canopy of Slon Records. In the following years, he had affiliations with Mavins Records but no records were put out to that effect.

In 2018, Myles was introduced to the CEO of Tinny Entertainment (Insert full name here), popularly known as Small Tinny, through a friend/fan. An amazing bond was born between Myles and Small Tinny immediately. In January 2019, Myles signed a record deal with Tinny Entertainment. He describes working under the Tinny Entertainment flag as an amazing experience and an opportunity he had hoped for.

When he is not creating songs in the studio, Myles loves to take long walks, play games or relax while listening to music.
